ÀúÀÚ´Â 1985³â 1¿ù 1ÀÏ ºÎÅÍ 1996³â 3¿ù 31ÀÏ ±îÁö ºÎ»ê´ëÇб³ Ä¡°ú´ëÇÐ ±¸°­¾Ç¾È¸é¿Ü°ú¿¡ ³»¿øÇÏ¿© Ludwig¡¯s angina·Î Áø´Ü ¹Þ¾Æ ÀÔ¿ø°¡·á¸¦ ¹ÞÀº ³²ÀÚ 18¸í, ¿©ÀÚ 12¸í, ÃÑ 30¸í ȯÀÚµéÀÇ º´·ÏÁö ±â·ÏÀ» °ËÅäÇÏ¿© ´ÙÀ½°ú °°Àº °á·ÐÀ» ¾ò¾ú´Ù.

1. ³²³à°£ÀÇ ¼ººñ´Â 1.5:1À» ³ªÅ¸³ÂÀ¸¸ç, °¡Àå È£¹ß¿¬·ÉÀº 50´ë·Î 26.7%¸¦ º¸¿´´Ù.
2. ¿øÀκ°·Î´Â Ä¡¼ºÀÌ 83.3%·Î °¡Àå ¸¹ÀÌ ³ªÅ¸³µÀ¸¸ç, Ä¡°úÄ¡·á ÈÄ ¹ß»ýµÈ °æ¿ì°¡ 50%³ª µÇ¾ú´Ù.
3. ³ó¹è¾ç¿¡¼­ ºÐ¸®µÈ ¿øÀαÕÁÖ´Â Streptococci (40.7%), Staphylococci(22.2%), Bacteroid(14.8%), Candida(11.1%), Pseudomonas(3.7%), Pneumococci (3.7%), Salmonella(3.7%)ÀÇ ¼øÀ̾ú´Ù.
4. Àü½ÅÁúȯÀ» °¡Áö°í ÀÖ´Â °æ¿ì°¡ 66.7% ¿´À¸¸ç, ´ç´¢º´(25%), ¿µ¾çÀå¾Ö (22.7%), ·ù¸¶Æ¼½º°üÀý¿° (11.4%), ÆóÁúȯ(11.4%), °íÇ÷¾Ð(11.4%)ÀÇ ¼øÀ̾ú´Ù.
5. Ä¡·á¹æ¹ýÀº ¸ðµç °æ¿ì¿¡ ¿Ü°úÀû ¹è³óÀý °³¼úÀÌ ½ÃÇàµÇ¾ú°í, 16.7%¿¡¼­ ±â°üÀý °³¼ú°¡ ½ÃÇàµÇ¾ú´Ù.
6. »ç¿ëµÈ Ç×»ýÁ¦¿ä¹ýÀº Penicillin, Cephalosporin°ú AminoglycosideÀÇ º´¿ë(46.7%), Cephalosporin, Amino - glycoside¿Í ÇÔ²² MetronidazoleÀÇ º´¿ëÀÌ 30.0%·Î ÁÖÁ¾À» ÀÌ·ç°í ÀÖ¾ú°í, Àüü ȯÀÚ¿¡¼­ µÎ °¡Áö ÀÌ»óÀÇ Ç×»ýÁ¦°¡ µ¿½Ã¿¡ »ç¿ëµÇ¾ú´Ù.
7. 6.7%ÀÇ Ä¡»çÀ²À» º¸¿´´Ù.

This is a retrospective study on the Ludwig¡¯s angina patients treated in Dept of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of Pusan National University Hospital for the peroid of Jan. 1985 to March 1996. The used materials of this study were 30 in total, including 18 male patients, 12 female patients. The author analyzed the distribution and incidence of sex, age, etiologic factor, pus culture, involved systemic disease, treatment methods, mortality rate.

The results were as follows :
1. The incidences was higher in sixth decades(26.7%) and prevalent in male.
2. The most cause was odontogenic(83.3%) and in 15 cases(50%), the symptom aggravated after dental treatment.
3. The causative organism isolated from pus culture were Streptococci(40.7%), Staphylococci(22.2%), Bacteroid(14.8%), Candida(11.1%), Pseudomonas(3.7%), Pneumococci(3.7%), Salmonella(3.7%).
4. The patients with systemic disease were 66.7%, involved disease wee DM(25%), malnutrition(22.7%), rheumatoid arthritis(11.4%), pulmonary disease(11.4%), hypertension(11.4%).
5. In all patients, surgical I&D was done, and 5 cases(16.7%) required tracheostomy.
6. In all patients, we used combination antibiotics, and the most commonly used antibiotics in the treatment were combination of Penicillin, Cephalosporin and Aminiglycoside(46.7%), and combination of Cdphlosporin, Aminiglycoside and Metronidazole(30%).
7. The mortality rate was 6.7%.
